Dr. Jennifer Brown is the Executive Director of KIPP Jacksonville Schools, which opened the first KIPP schools in Florida – KIPP Impact Middle School in 2010, KIPP VOICE Elementary in 2012, and KIPP Jacksonville Elementary in 2015. KIPP, the Knowledge Is Power Program, is a national non-profit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools. KIPP schools are part of the free public school system and enrollment is open to all students. As a national network, KIPP has a 20-year track record of preparing students in educationally underserved communities for success in college and life.

Prior to joining the KIPP Jacksonville team as the Chief Academic Officer in 2015, Jennifer served as program director for education non-profit organizations, including New Classrooms Innovation Partners and New Leaders. Earlier in her career, she worked as a teacher, curriculum specialist, and instructional coach. Jennifer earned both a B.A. and M.A. in English from Winthrop University and the Ed.D. in Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Brown also served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 8 years and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and enjoys reading and spending time with family.
