HerSPACE is a program encompassing transitional housing and emergency shelter for women veterans and their children who are experiencing homelessness in Florida. It helps to move them into stable housing through intense case management.
About the program
HerSPACE was developed in partnership with the St. Andrews Lutheran Church By the Sea near Jacksonville Beach. The church donated the use of “The Lighthouse,” a 4-bedroom, 3,000 square foot 2-story house on Beach Blvd. The house can hold up to 6 women veterans and their children . The HerSPACE program provides temporary housing at the Lighthouse while working with the veteran on establishing long-term housing solutions.
